In 1944, while the poet Pier Paolo Pasolini was fighting “with the weapons of poetry”, his younger brother Guido joined the Italian resistance movement with the Osoppo Brigade on the Friuli mountains (Italy). Pier Paolo learnt that Guido had been killed in the Porzûs massacre only when the war was over. This tragedy deeply marked the Poet, both from the point of view of affections and from the political-ideological one.

During the event, Massimo Somaglino will read Pier Paolo’s texts and poems and Guido’s letters to his brother and family. Andrea Zannini’s historical analysis will accompany the reading.

The event is organized by “Centro Studi Pier Paolo Pasolini Casarsa della Delizia” – in collaboration with the Municipality of Casarsa, Casarsa Pro Loco Association, and “Forum Democratico” – as part of the celebrations for the centenary of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s birth.
